Why am I Vegan

10 years ago I read a book by Peter Singer called Animal Liberation.  A wonderful book on the farming industry and the harmful effects of a meat based diet on society and your body.  I had already grown up with a vegetarian influence, my mother.  Often I was given the option of eating what she was preparing for herself or having what the rest of the family was having.  So for me to decide to go vegan  in my 20s seemed natural.  There are many reason why I decided to go vegan and eventually eating all raw vegan foods.  To me it just feels right eating 100% whole, ripe, raw, organic, plants.  First I cut out all dairy, then shortly after that all meats, and finally grains.  I feel better now at 31 then I ever felt in my teenage years.  I run, bike, do yoga and seem to have unlimited energy and I love it.  I wake up each day with a smile on my face.  It does not seem natural to me to hunt an animal with my bare hands, but it does seem natural to pick a ripe peach from a tree.  What would you do if given the option???
